Summary of issues covered

Women represent highest numbers of illiteracy people

High percentage of women are in extreme poverty

Most women have no free choice and lack opportunities

Reasons for exploitation/Violence 

• Many women and children are misplaced to cities and therefore lack jobs and also exploited

• Pornography is a great source of violence against women

• Pornography shows maltreatment of women e.g. that women should be beaten, raped and forced to have sex

• Pornography degrades the image of women and start getting the wrong image about women from early age.

• Pornography encourage prostitution influence perception of young people and perception of the woman's body for sexuality (reality is different)

• Police hide this problem and therefore hard to find the trend on trafficking

Media and Internet

This is a source of information which has encouraged violence, trafficking and other misinterpretation of woman's body

Exiled people/woman

An experience of a 24 year old girl highlighted the following issues

• Refugees

• War contribute so much to the violence against women

• Women are raped

• Forced to hard labour

• Psychological, mentally illiteracy

• Exploited

• Impregnated at early age

• Climatic changes a challenge to many
