The Wiki-ITO forum is meant to operate as an Assembly of citizens willing to promote and enforce sound principles for International Trade.
International consensus is to be achieved by way of sharing views, discussion and justification : to this end, each Actionable theme features its own "Discussion" tab. Once the community reaches consensus, the result is published to the "Article" tab. This is the wiki transparent mode of operation.
Each article promotes universal values, principles, objectives, indicators, means and strategies for action. Articles should achieve this cascading pattern, i.e.: from solid foundations to far-reaching construction.
All articles together form the Wiki-ITO base, to become more and more legitimate and representative as time goes, unquestionably so if all contributions to the articles have proven numerous, from diverse origins, and convergent.
The Wiki-ITO base is accessed by the general public, lawmakers and politicians. All of them obtain useful information, and guidance for action inspired by uppermost universal values.
Ideally, if this forum grows as "Wikipedia" did, then the day will come when politicians could no longer ignore it, and come to align themselves with its proposals rather than those of the market-oriented WTO.
If so, another Organization for Trade will take shape, consistent with the Imperative of Responsibility. We hereby declare such organization of utmost importance to regulate International Trade. It could be named "The International Trade Organization (ITO)", after the La Havane Charter.
Should this new ITO derive its mandate from the United Nations?;recognize all of its legal instruments, as well as international Charters and conventions;and cooperate with the other (Environment, Labour)Institutions?
For sure, commercial interests will continue to be in action, but within a set and defined framework, not to rule over the world anymore.
Contributions to this Talk page are invited to better define the framework and mandate of this future ITO.
