Name of Event: Social Forum for social diversity, sharing the experiences or views for the WSF right from 20th-to date

Name of organizers: FEDAEPS, LGBT, DEMTE based in South Africa

Number of participants: Approximately 1500

Key speakers

It was an open discussion by people from different countries

Problems encountered:

There is no spirit of togetherness, various groups are working individually
People have been running from one meeting to another failing to complete all the meetings or discussions because they want to collect a lot of data hence skipping some which would be as important.
Promotion of prostitution, gay and lesbianism has also been aspired by many people.
Culture is also a problem to social diversity.
It was pointed out that Kenyans do not understand what WSF is all about. Thinking that people are conquering their country, engaging in trade etc. They are really afraid about sexual diversity in their country.

Recommendations:

The setting of so many forum or issues discussed at the same time thus making people missing information from other activities
We should not just say another world is possible but put it practically.
Stick with the sign of unity, people should come together as the forum suggests.
Participants should take time and listen while noting information until the discussion is finished for the better
The assembly also called for massive mobilization since there is a forum next year.
Need to use existing networks and organizations
Advocated for the fight of communication and information rights in our society
It was clearly noted that poverty is one of reasons why people turn to prostitution
