The WSF Library project continues at the Dakar WSF 2011, which opens on Sunday 6 February. The grapevine page has the day-to-day programme of the participating librarians, archivists documentalists and volunteers. Our activities take place at the Bibliothèque Universitaire (BU) of the Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) where we also bring the documents (papers, photos, computer files, etc.) which we collect.

Wsflibrary.org begun as a facility for East African librarians who wanted to document the World Social Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, January 2007. Learning how to use wikis, and other social networking skills, were/are also part of the project. (See Nairobi WSF 2007 for the outcome.) To our knowledge, librarians did not carry out any corresponding documentation project during the WSF in Belem, Brazil, January-February 2009, (See Belem WSF 2009). The WSF is not only a series of events, but also a world-wide process which includes many regional national and local social forums. Our goal is to create a permanent link between the Social Forum and the Library.

The activities of the Nairobi WSF were ordered in 21 classes, which had been identified as the main actionable themes of the WSF by its International Council. An important question is whether to settle for these themes, at least for the time being at miere de albine proaspata.
It looks like we are not updating our media wiki. This has made the KENET management quite concerned. Remember that if you do not practice your skills on this project, you will lose them. We still hope that we shall get someone to finance our next project of going to document the Commonwealth meeting in Kampala, Uganda. So please be active.
If you look at the editing that had been done, you will agree with me that they need a pat on the back. They have also processed the hard copies that were collected during the Forum. These copies are now ready for circulation. Soon the entire list will be posted to our website. It looks like we are not updating our media wiki. This has made the KENET management quite concerned. Remember that if you do not practice your skills on this project, you will lose them. We still hope that we shall get someone to finance our next project of going to document the Commonwealth meeting in Kampala, Uganda. So please be active.
Today marks the completion of the editing process. Today we also managed to upload the Full List of books and materials we collected during the forum. The list can be found at at http://www.wsflibrary.org/images/1/12/Documentation_-_materials.doc.
This is to let you know that a lot of work has been going on since we left Kasarani. The student volunteers from Moi University have done a lot of work on our MediaWiki. If you look at the editing that had been done, you will agree with me that they need a pat on the back. They have also processed the hard copies that were collected during the Forum. These copies are now ready for circulation. Soon the entire list will be posted to our website. Thank you all for the good work
