USSF 2007 in Atlanta
The First US Social Forum was held in Atlanta, June 27 - July 1, 2007.
According to the organizers,
- "USSF 2007 provided space to build relationships, learn from each other's experiences, share our analysis of the problems our
- communities face, and bring renewed insight and inspiration. It helped develop leadership and develop consciousness, vision, and strategy needed to
- realize another world. At least 12,000 of us registered for the Forum, and up to 15,000 participated throughout the five days. Over 1,000 organizations
- mobilized their constituents. We filled over 2,000 four-hour volunteer shifts. We held more than 1,000 plenaries, workshops and cultural events in parks, : theaters, and in the street. We were joined with representatives from every single state in the U.S. as well as delegations from Guam, Puerto Rico, and 64 : other countries." (from the website https://www.ussf2007.org/)

USSF 2010
The National Planning Committee (NPC) of the US Social Forum (USSF) has announced the initial organizing for the 2010 USSF. The NPC has formed a Site Selection Committee of the NPC to identify the host city for the event; our target date is the summer of 2010. Final dates will be determined in partnership with the anchor organizations.
The 2010 USSF will build on the dynamic events of this past summer in Atlanta; host city for the first Social Forum ever held in the United States. This will be a continuation of activities that are part of a larger global process of convening’for progressive movements, community organizers and activists known as the World Social Forum (WSF).
