Civil society seeks an alternative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to promote better trade rules that are: good for people, and for the environment.
An Internet forum called "Wiki-ITO" will be used by a community of activists, to influence the general public, politicians and law-makers .
Wiki-ITO will interact with:
- Its contributors (authors/reviewers etc.)
- Its translators
- Its moderators
- Information consumers (the general public; politicians; law-makers; NGOs etc.)
- Administrator
- Its enemies
- Each category of volunteers will have specific functions such as:
During the Attac European Summer University in Sarrebrucken 1-6 August 2008, the nascent Wiki-ITO was presented and activists from different countries joined forces.
The upcoming challenge is now to cooperate through Wiki itself, in such a way that every person contributes what she wishes on a volunteer basis. What would you like to bring? Below are some possibilities.
